Shopping & Gift Guide: Kids

These are a few of my favourite things.

  • Rad Reads and cool CDs.  Books and music don’t have to be juvenile.  Now I don’t know if I would read these naughty novels to a tiny tot, but they’re sure worth the laugh you’ll get with your partner…and I guarantee your children will chuckle when you show them how hip you were, when they were bitty.  {Don’t forget to use bookplate stickers or stamps to give all your bobbin’s books proper ownership.}
  • Laser Stars.  This was one of my favourite gifts that I received at my baby shower.  Unfortunately, you will fall madly in love with it, and have a very difficult time removing it from the master suite.  Trust me on this.  Once you get used to falling asleep under the stars, every night, it’s tough to go back to a plain vaulted ceiling.
  • Chalkboard Placemats.  When is dinner going to be ready?  No, seriously.  I’m starving.  And while you’re cooking up a culinary masterpiece, your mini-Monet will be busy cooking up darling designs on these fun and functional must-haves.
  • Bento Boxes.  Lunch was never so nifty.  There are an endless number of bento box options, and even more websites and blogs about fun ways to fill them.  Get creative, and you’ll have your picky eater shouting “more, more!” {probably in Japanese}.
